About
Gary Gillett
I worked at several law firms before opening my own practice in 2010 in downtown Columbus.
I have been practicing law for over 35 years. The focus of my practice has been on assisting businesses that have liquor permits in Columbus and throughout the State of Ohio.
As to liquor law, I have handled the purchase and sale of businesses, liquor licensing, objections to liquor permit applications and renewals, sales tax matters (including audits), and liquor citations, and provided assistance in securing local option elections.
My practice has involved handling many different types of business matters including formation of businesses, preparation of contracts, and review and drafting of leases. My practice has also involved administrative matters before the Ohio Division of Liquor Control, Ohio Liquor Control Commission, Ohio Department of Taxation, Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Ohio Lottery Commission, SNAP, WIC and other agencies.
I have also represented my clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters and cases before the Franklin County Environmental Court. I have given lectures on liquor licensing to the Ohio Restaurant Association and to the Ohio Business Brokers Association at both the Central Ohio and Northern Ohio chapters.
